		M O V I N G . . . It seems everywhere you look at the moment pop stars are busy buying new homes. Madonna has already bought a stunning £7 million six bedroom house in trendy NottingHill, and Noel Gallagher has also just splashed out on a swanky new love nest which cost him £1 million. Lord, how the other half live! Well, after being turned away from their homes, I quickly tracked down another big name who has just purchased a plush new home on the outskirts of London. Admittedly, ex-Bucks Fizz star Sheryl Baker’s new pad in ‘leafy’ Luton was not quite what I had in mind, but she was welcoming enough. Once I’d got out of the lift, she showed me the ‘stunning’ views from her bathroom window. I must confess that the sight of two plumbers pushing a broken-down transit van around a housing estate, was hardly the Swiss Alps at daybreak. The kitchen was hardly anything to write home about. A broken toaster and metal bucket containing two rats was hardly luxurious, but it was a painful reminder of my own problems at home. Dear old Sheryl was just about to show me the living room, when I made my excuses and left. Sheryl said that perhaps I should stay and meet Limahl who was popping in for a cup of water. She was also quick to point out that she was still singing and dancing on a regular basis, although Kareokee at the ‘Dog and Weasel’ on Sundays, is hardly Eurovision. BEN
